Assignment: Today students we will be searching for Historical Monuments that you find interesting. Please post a picture of your monument with a description of it's importance.

John:  The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is a national memorial in Washington, D.C. It honors U.S. service members of the U.S. armed forces who fought in the Vietnam War, service members who died in service in Vietnam/South East Asia, and those service members who were unaccounted for (Missing In Action) during the War.

Kendra: The monument to Thomas Jefferson was created in 1899 by Sir Moses Ezekiel. It was commissioned as one of two sculptures for the exterior of the Jefferson County Courthouse; the other statue honors Louis XIV

Scott: The Confederate Monument in LawrenceburgKentucky is an 8-foot-tall (2.4 m) figure which was built in 1894[2] by the Kentucky Women's Monumental Association, a predecessor of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, an organization founded in that year.
